Our Teachers

All of our teachers are passionate about music. We are dedicated to supporting the natural development of children using the language of music and movement.

We create a fun, informal, setting that spurs musical engagement and supports each child.

We take advantage of the rich diversity on our staff to strengthen our understanding of this work through ongoing workshops and trainings. We are a musical learning community that likes to make Music Together® too.

Jessica, our Center Director, enters her 20th year with Music Together. She is a candidate for Certification level II for teaching mastery. She has a long musical life that started by dancing in her father's arms. Voice is her primary instrument. Jessica studied at Conservatorio Cherubini in Florence, Italy and at Boston Conservatory. She has sung around the world and under the baton of many fine conductors including Mehta, Mazur, Abel and Botstein. One time she even shared the stage with vocal great Bobby McFerron. Jessica has an eclectic performance background ranging from medieval polyphany to jazz but feels most in tune sitting in a circle, making music with families that didn't know they could. She is particulary proud to have gathered a staff of diversly talented and engaging educators who in their spare time are known to make music together! Jessica's experience as an early childhood educator inspires and informs her interest in creating community events. Susan began her musical life as a child. She grew up in a large Canadian family. Her earliest memories are of sing-a-longs among her sixty plus cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family surrounding an upright piano in a tiny little farm house. She attended performing arts high school and went on to minor in music education in college while earning her degrees in psychology and education. As an elementary and middle school teacher Susan always found a way to integrate music into her teaching and every day life. When Susan had her first daughter Olivia in 2010 she began Music Together Classes. She saw how special the program was for her whole family. &S220; We know we wanted to raise our children in a music rich environment like I was lucky enough to grow up in. Our life is a musical and we wouldn't have it any other way!&S221; Susan began her Music Together teacher training in 2011 and is now very excited to join our team. Along the way, baby Avery joined the family. Susan also teaches Music Together in West Hartford and will soon be offering sign language courses for families with young children....stay tuned!
